This post was written back in may when school was in session. I realized that it was never posted. This is part two.
Hey everyone, and welcome back to the blog! As promised, today's quarantine update: it is currently day 17 when I am writing this, day 20 when I upload it! I am going into my third week of online school, and then I have a spring break. I am a little bummed out because I was supposed to be going on a school trip to Mexico, and then a ballet festival in long beach during spring break. However, I know that I am fortunate to not have to worry financially, and have enough food during this global pandemic so I am very grateful.
Today's post is going to be the part two to my day-in-the-life that I posted on Monday. So on Monday, we left off at 3 pm, so I am just going to continue from there!
3:00-3:45 Chill time! After I am done with school, I just really need some time to chill out and sit on the couch. I will scroll through my phone, watch some youtube videos, text my friends, etc. I will also usually eat a snack!
3:45-4:45 Productivity time! I will usually use this hour to do something productive that is non-school related. I will do some cleaning or housework for my mom to earn money, or if I have a light ballet day, I will do a workout.
4:45 At around this time I will start to get ready for dance! My dance schedule varies day-by-day, but I typically have my first classes starting around 5:30. I will put on my leotard, tights, and warm-ups, do my bun, and move my portable bar into my living room. If you guys want a ballet at home essentials post, I would be super happy to write one for you!
5:30↦ Ballet! I typically have a technique class lasting around an hour and a half, followed by a 45-minute pointe class. Then not every day I will have another class or rehearsal. Just as an example, I will break down my Monday schedule:
5:30-7:00 Technique class! I have all of my classes online right now via Zoom, so we just do the regular thing. Barre is pretty much the same as usual, but because we don't have as much space, center is a little different.
7:00-7:45 Pointe class! We don't do tons of stuff in pointe class because we don't have the safest floors, so we do a lot at the barre, and a ton of relevés to work on keeping our feet and ankles strong. Then in the center, we will do some adagio, some jumps, some echappés, stuff like that.
7:45-8:00 Dinner time! I have a quick 15-minute break for dinner. When the studios are open, I eat a little bit before I leave, and a little bit late at night. This night my mom made homemade chicken fried rice.
8:00-9:00 Partnering class/conditioning. Before the whole situation going on right now this was our partnering class (which was one of my favorite classes ever!), but now it's a sort of conditioning class. We will either do some sort of workout or floor barre.
9:00 Getting ready for bed! I will take a shower, take out my bun, and do my nighttime skincare routine.
9:30-10:30 Chill time! I will eat dessert, usually a mango sorbet popsicle, and just watch t.v. with my family!
10:30-11:00 Bedtime! I will put in my nighttime contacts, let my dog out for the last time, and crawl into bed!
So that's my afternoon/nighttime routine! Thanks so much for reading! On Friday I have another hair post planned, so look out for that! Remember to subscribe to my mailing list, and like this post.
Stay safe and stay healthy!
xoxo,
